Now as the majority of those who visit this page will probably have facebook, what I am about to reveal to you is probably no news.
However to those who have managed to avoid our constant plugging of Defined on facebook (well evaded by the way as it has been rather relentless) I have an exciting announcement to make!!

Ladies and Gentlemen we have a gig on Thursdsay 8th Of April at the Kings Centre, Elm Grove..

The event is a chance for us and our fellow ‘backbeat’  band Split Personalities to gain some practise before our outing to the New Theatre Royal, and also an excellent opportunity for H.O.P.E Portsmouth to raise some money to fund the fantastic work they do.

Hey guys, hows it going!?

First of all, apologise for being bit slow to update of late, quite frankly its been abit of a mental few weeks. Lets talk about that now shall we?

Defined Music, has started to get quite serious about plans and future goals, and i’ll be honest, its well random because this just started as abit of a laugh. Me, Ben and Joe have been mates for years and have done bits and peices together at various functions and what not but this is the only thing we have done together that has real purchase behind it… in other words… “THIS ONE COULD FLY!!” (not neccesarily to the top of the charts of course, but a boy can dream!) Put it this way guys, if Joe Harvey begins to write songs and talk about DM outside of rehearsals…you know your on to something!!

So, whats the plan!? well, here are a few things that are definatly going to happen:

• By September this year, DM will have a 6 track EP out. This will be distributed to Spotify and Itunes.
• In the Summer of this year we will be looking to really get alot of Gigging experience under our belts, as well as recording the EP.
• Talks of a mini, city-wide, “Tour” are underway; to raise money for The Hope Project that supports us greatly.

This is really exciting, however, i think i can safetly say that Defined Music will always be about the LAUGHS!! Lets see where it takes us ay!!

Hello Everyone! It’s Ben here from Defined. I thought I would send you a little update of what is going on.
We have been busy in the studio lately tweaking the song AND working on a new one at the same time.. Woah, aren’t we good!?
Well the new song is being written by our very own bass player Joe. Jimmy is as we speak writing some new lyrics, well atleast I hope he is..
I have some really good drum beats in my head it’s just getting them out.. I quite like drum and bass beats at the moment, who knows maybe we can write a D&B track.

Right, so the single is up and available to download, what next for the boys of defined music I hear you ask?

Well, most importantly for us is the preparation for our next live appearance at the Portsmouth Variety Show staged at the New Theatre Royal.. This will consist of us showcasing one or two songs amongst a sea of young talent from around the Portsmouth area, a chance for us to get the name of Defined Music and ram it down a few throats! (only in a slightly less dramatic way)
Then there is the crucial writing of new material… You see one song is not enough for us; the release of ‘Anything you hope for’ really is the beginning for us as a band.. So its now time for us to get our writing caps on and lay down some new riffs, lyrics, drum beats etc… and piece together some new tunes for your listening pleasure (and our egotistical confidence).

Keeping checking the sight for updates in the realms of video blogs, messages and fingers crossed some more music..

Hello Everyone. This little blog is to let you know that we have started writing songs and our first one is sounding awesome. Jimmy has come up with an amazing Guitar riff with Joe following closesly behind with an epic Bass line. Ben of course has something special in terms of Drum terminology it means PHAT!

Hello everyone it’s Ben here again. I thought I would post you a blog and tell you what is happening. So here we go..

Well we did the Gig at Paulsgrove Motiv8 centre and it was a real experience in which we all enjoyed and learnt from, i’m pretty sure our next blog will be the Vlog from that day but editing is proving to be taking a while. This includes footage of us playing, and some interviews as the day went on.

Also we may have gotten 3 other offers from various people in the Council and local people from Portsmouth which is cool and says that we made a statement about who and what we do!

I would personally like to thank everyone who has supported us and are still supporting us; I don’t think we would carry on without it in all honesty.

Last and not least we have been in the studio creating some weird noises which actually sound amazingly rinsing! I am pretty sure they will be recorded soon too but before we record our debut single as it were we will perform it live in the up-and-coming Portsmouth Variety Show on the 16th April at the New Theatre Royal in Guildhall walk. Hello eveyone. It’s been a while since we last blogged so I have taken it upon myself to do it more so you guys are updated everytime something new is happening.
This is a message to let you know that our video blogs aka ‘Vlogs’ are up and running, they will be done either weekly or every fortnight
Also in these Vlogs will be a little bit on what we are doing, how we are getting on as well as some practise footage. Please comment on how we are doing in these. This whole experience is new to us and would love your feedback. After all we are here for you guys!

Practises; they are going well. Nailed most of the songs ready for the Gig in February the 3rd at Paulsgrove Community Centre opening for Motiv8. We are learning new songs all the time as well as in the proccess of writing our own for you lovely bunch to critic
Our songs will most probably be done after February as we are concentrating on that Gig entirely with everything we have.
New songs will of course be posted on this very site for you to listen, download and the album we hope should be done this year, keep checking this site, Facebook and Twitter for more details to follow
