Exciting times are ahead. Jimmy has written a masterpiece and we are all actually happy with this one. Surprised? I know, so are we..

For your Information we will not be recording these ones just yet until the summer where we will do a solid few days on them and prep the EP! This is exciting because you the adorable fans will be able to purchase this CD and spread the word of Defined.

Hello all well this little blog is purely to say that we are free for bookings and will happily play at any venue or function that we are required for.. So do you think you need a band to entertain your afternoon then we are your guys.

Well i think its safe to say that Defined Music just had an EPIC weekend!

It started off on Friday night where we played in the Portsmouth Variety Performance! The venue was The New Theatre Royal and it was completely SOLD OUT! It was an amazing experience and we got a great reception from the livly crowd! What followed was an incredible response! with over 100 people adding us on facebook and over 150 hits on our myspace!

We’d like to say a massive thankyou to Kate Gillbert and the rest of the team that worked so hard to put the event on and make it a Great show, thanks for having us!!!

But Defined Music’s weekend wasnt over there! Sunday Night included a drive up the M27 to southampton to play our first gig @ The Joiners! And whilst it wasnt the most packed of places Defined Music, out of the 3 bands that played, brought the biggest following! Cheers for the guys that got the bus, train and a taxi from Portsmouth! legends!

As for the Set, it went ok, not our finest half an hour but not our worst! It was just a fantastic experience to play on the same stage as the likes of Oasis, Enter Shikari and other high profile bands!

We’d also like to say that Southampton based Pop-Punk Band ‘Get Your Ass to Mars’ are incredible!! check out thier myspace here!

Hello all, so far we have played some pretty good gigs in the last 2 weeks and we are not stopping there. In May we have been asked to play at a Fundraiser. We are going to be playing at a pretty good venue on the 18th of April known as the Joiners. Pretty big step up from Portsmouth Variety Show in that it is established as a music venue and we will potentially get other gigs from it in other venues as good! We will of course keep you all posted on dates and times.

Now as the majority of those who visit this page will probably have facebook, what I am about to reveal to you is probably no news.
However to those who have managed to avoid our constant plugging of Defined on facebook (well evaded by the way as it has been rather relentless) I have an exciting announcement to make!!

Ladies and Gentlemen we have a gig on Thursdsay 8th Of April at the Kings Centre, Elm Grove..

The event is a chance for us and our fellow ‘backbeat’  band Split Personalities to gain some practise before our outing to the New Theatre Royal, and also an excellent opportunity for H.O.P.E Portsmouth to raise some money to fund the fantastic work they do.

Hey guys, hows it going!?

First of all, apologise for being bit slow to update of late, quite frankly its been abit of a mental few weeks. Lets talk about that now shall we?

Defined Music, has started to get quite serious about plans and future goals, and i’ll be honest, its well random because this just started as abit of a laugh. Me, Ben and Joe have been mates for years and have done bits and peices together at various functions and what not but this is the only thing we have done together that has real purchase behind it… in other words… “THIS ONE COULD FLY!!” (not neccesarily to the top of the charts of course, but a boy can dream!) Put it this way guys, if Joe Harvey begins to write songs and talk about DM outside of rehearsals…you know your on to something!!

So, whats the plan!? well, here are a few things that are definatly going to happen:

• By September this year, DM will have a 6 track EP out. This will be distributed to Spotify and Itunes.
• In the Summer of this year we will be looking to really get alot of Gigging experience under our belts, as well as recording the EP.
• Talks of a mini, city-wide, “Tour” are underway; to raise money for The Hope Project that supports us greatly.

This is really exciting, however, i think i can safetly say that Defined Music will always be about the LAUGHS!! Lets see where it takes us ay!!
